OcuCheck
The OcuCheck
A collaborative project with a local NSF SBIR funded startup: InnSight Technology, Inc.
Industrial Design team led by Dr. Deana McDonagh: Matthew Bowman, Gina Taylor, Amanda Henderson, and Fanwen Ji. From 2016 to 2017, our team created prototypes of housing for the the handheld device, with Matthew leading the design. We conducted user research, created sketches/ideation and low-fidelity prototypes, and organized user feedback sessions. Matthew created high-fidelity prototypes (using wood and 3D printing) and a CAD model, which I then used to create contextual use scenarios (using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator).
After the initial phase of prototyping, I continued with the company as a design researcher and graphic designer. In this capacity I have created marketing materials and business cards, posters for conferences, redesigned their website, and assisted with their social media presence (Twitter and Facebook). I also attended the National Science Foundation SBIR/STTR Phase II Grantees Conference in Atlanta, GA in June 2017 with the InnSight team in a supportive role.
